Interpretation

Departure planning information message (A-DPI and C-DPI) is provided to the Network Manager Operations Center (NMOC). Pilots of aircraft equipped with Mode S and ADS-B functionality must, when operating on the ground, select automatic mode with the assigned Mode A or, if automatic mode is not available, select ON with the assigned Mode A from push-back request until the aircraft is fully parked; if the aircraft can communicate its identification, it must be entered at push-back request time. The crew must use the ICAO-defined format to enter the aircraft identification. To avoid compromising SSR-based systems, TCAS should not be selected before receiving clearance to line up and should be deselected after vacating the runway.
