Interpretation

Aerodrome noise-abatement procedures apply to all military arrivals and departures. Transient military aircraft are limited to straight-in, full-stop landings; carrier breaks are prohibited at all times. Fighter aircraft must not use afterburners for takeoffs, go-arounds or missed approaches unless operationally required. When required for takeoff, afterburners must be terminated by the departure end of the runway or 300 KIAS, whichever occurs first. After takeoff, go-around or missed approach, fighters must rapidly climb to 5,000 ft MSL unless ATC directs otherwise. Practice approaches are prohibited during quiet hours, 1900–0700 local.
