Interpretation

F-35B short takeoff and vertical landing (STOVL) and vertical landing operations are not authorized for cross-country or transient operations, and engine runs are prohibited because the pavement cannot withstand the thermal exhaust plume and no vertical landing pad is available. Runway 8/26 and connecting taxiways cannot support vertical landings, STOVL operations, or VS-BIT. All F-35B operations require 24-hour prior permission via Airfield Management; real-world emergency landings will be supported to the maximum extent possible, but crews should expect severe pavement damage and high-velocity foreign object debris hazards.

ENGINE RUNS PROHIBITED DUE INADEQUATE PAVEMENT INFRASTRUCTURE AND LACK OF A VERTICAL LANDING PAD (VLP). RUNWAY 8/26 (ASPH/CONC) AND CONNECTING TAXIWAYS (CONC) ARE UNABLE TO SUPPORT F-35B THERMAL EXHAUST PLUME FOR VERTICAL LANDINGS, STOVL OPERATIONS OR A VS-BIT. ALL F-35B OPS REQUIRE 24HR PPR VIA AFM.
