Interpretation

Due to seasonal operations at LGIR and within Iraklion TMA, training flights are restricted as follows: VFR training flights require ATC approval, must request start-up and ATC clearance on the delivery frequency, and touch-and-go operations are subject to ATC approval. Solo VFR training flights’ initial call must include the callsign followed by “SOLO.” Prior permission required (PPR) at least 24 hours in advance via email [email protected] (Mon–Fri 0400–1200 UTC) for solo VFR training, VFR night flights, and IFR training flights. Maximum of two VFR training or build-up flights are allowed within the TMA; at night, only one VFR flight is allowed within the TMA at a time. All VFR training flights must plan to land no later than sunset. ATC may suspend VFR training flights or all VFR flights for operational reasons.
