Interpretation

Kuwait FIR (OKAC) is subject to operational restrictions. Flights arriving at or departing from airports within the FIR require prior approval from the Kuwait DGCA Air Transport Department. Overflights between Bahrain FIR (OBBB) and Baghdad FIR (ORBB) through Kuwait FIR are permitted in either direction only on published ATS routes at FL280 or above, subject to prior approval, flow-control measures and ATC clearance; all other overflights are prohibited. Flights between airports within Kuwait FIR and Baghdad FIR are prohibited. Departures toward or through Bahrain FIR must file according to normal OKAC–OBBB routing arrangements; departures toward or through Jeddah FIR (OEJD) must file via NIDAP L550, DEKOB P517, KATOD G667 or ASVIR H741, as appropriate. Arrivals from Bahrain FIR must file via KUMBO A453; arrivals from Jeddah FIR must file via KUNRU P891, SOROR A788 or H741 ASVIR. Operators must carry sufficient fuel for possible tactical delays or diversions.
