Interpretation
Bird migration and local bird activity around ZGGG and adjacent airspace increase bird-strike risk, particularly 10–35 km from runway thresholds at 600–1,800 m. Seasonal migration occurs all day and is relatively frequent from 0930–2300 at 300–4,500 m. Southward migration is expected to continue on November 2–3, 5–6 and 8–9; rain and low cloud from November 4–7 may bring high-altitude flocks lower. Sporadic birds are active from 2200–1030 the next day at 0–100 m, including swifts at 60–200 m on approach to runways 02R/20L/03/21/01L/19R; birds and bats are active from 1030–2200 at 0–200 m. Crews are advised to remain vigilant during takeoff and landing and use continuous climb and descent operations.
