Interpretation

Operational guidance for visual approaches: pilots must maintain safe separation from obstacles and preceding traffic when cleared for a visual approach. If visual reference is lost, inform ATC; ATC may assist to convert to an instrument approach, terminate the visual approach, or execute a missed approach per pilot intent. The missed approach for a visual approach follows the RNAV ILS/DME Z missed approach for the landing runway or as cleared by ATC. In case of communication failure, if landing clearance has been received, the approach and landing may be continued.

CLEARANCE TO FOLLOW PRECEDING ACFT, THE PILOT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR
MAINTAINING SAFE SEPARATION BTN PRECEDING ACFT.
3.EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
3.1 CONVERSION AND TERMINATION OF VISUAL APPROACH
3.1.1 DURING A VISUAL APPROACH , IF A VISUAL APPROACH CANNOT BE
COMPLETED DUE TO LOSS OF VISUAL REFERENCE (AIRPORT OR PRECEDING
ACFT), PILOT SHALL INFORM ATC IMMEDIATELY, ATC MAY ASSIST THE
PILOT TO SWITCH TO INSTRUMENT APPROACH,TERMINATION OF VISUAL
APPROACH OR MISSED APPROACH ACCORDING TO THE PILOT'S INTENTION.
3.1.2 THE MISSED APPROACH OF VISUAL APPROACH IS THE SAME AS
RNAV ILS/DME Z MISSED APPROACH PROCEDURE OF THE LANDING RWY, OR
FOLLOW
ATC CLEARANCE.
3.2 COMMUNICATION FAILURE
3.2.1 IF LANDING CLEARANCE HAS BEEN RECEIVED AT THE TIME OF
COMMUNICATION FAILURE,THE PILOT MAY CONTINUE APPROACH AND LAND.
3.2.2 IF COMMUNICATION
