Interpretation

LQSA RWY 29 circling procedures updated: Categories A and B remain per ICAO Doc 8168. For Categories C and D, circling OCA(H) are higher than the FAF altitude and do not meet ICAO 8168 circling design criteria. Circling OCA(H): Cat C 5330 ft (3680 ft H), Cat D 5860 ft (4220 ft H). For Cat C/D circling, do not descend to FAF altitude; descent must be limited to the circling OCA. Operators using these values must establish appropriate procedures in their operational documentation; operations are under operator responsibility. THE PUBLISHED OCA FOR CIRCLING RWY 29 FOR CATEGORIES A AND B ARE IN
ACCORDANCE WITH ICAO DOC 8168. FOR CATEGORIES C AND D, THE
CALCULATED CIRCLING OCA VALUES ARE HIGHER THAN THE FAF ALTITUDE AND
ARE THEREFORE NOT IN ACCORDANCE WITH ICAO DOC 8168 CIRCLING CRITERIA.
THE CIRCLING OCA(H) VALUES FOR CAT C AND D ARE: CAT C: 5330 (3680)
FT, CAT D: 5860 (4220) FT. THESE VALUES ARE PROMULGATED FOR
OPERATIONAL INFORMATION. CIRCLING OPERATIONS FOR CAT C AND D DO NOT
FOLLOW STANDARD CIRCLING PROCEDURE DESIGN CRITERIA. WHEN COMMENCING
THE CIRCLING MANOEUVRE, DESCENT TO THE FAF ALTITUDE SHALL NOT BE
INITIATED. DESCENT SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE CIRCLING OCA. OPERATORS
INTENDING TO CONDUCT CIRCLING OPERATIONS USING THESE VALUES SHALL
ENSURE THAT APPROPRIATE PROCEDURES ARE ESTABLISHED WITHIN THEIR
OPERATIONAL DOCUMENTATION. SUCH OPERATIONS ARE CONDUCTED UNDER THE
