E) AIRPORT VISUAL APPROACH OPERATION:
1.IMPLEMENTATION CONDITIONS
1.1 WHEN THE WEATHER CONDITIONS AT ZHHH MEET THE REQUIREMENTS FOR
VISUAL APPROACH, THE PILOTS WILL BE INFORMED BY ATIS OF THE
AVAILABLE APPROACH METHODS FOR THE RELEVANT RUNWAY.
1.2 VISUAL APPROACH CAN BE APPLIED BY PILOTS OR INITIATED BY ATC,
CONDUCTED WITH MUTUAL CONSENT.
1.3 VISUAL APPROACHES MAY BE CONDUCTED EITHER ON ANY SINGLE RUNWAY
OF 04/22, 05L/23R, 05R/23L, OR SIMULTANEOUSLY ON TWO PARALLEL
RUNWAYS.
1.4 WHEN CONDUCTING SHORT FINAL VISUAL APPROACHES ON RUNWAYS 04,
05L AND 05R,THE EASTERN DOWNWINDIS UNAVAILABLE DUE TO
OBSTRUCTIONS.
2.INSTRUCTIONS FOR PILOTS:
2.1 ATC MAY ISSUE VISUAL APPROACH INSTRUCTION AFTER THE PILOTS
REPORT THE AIRPORT OR THE PRECEDING ACFT IS INSIGHT.
2.2 THE PILOT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING CONTINUOUS VISUAL TO
THE LANDING AIRPORT OR THE PRECEDING ACFT, INFORM ATC IF UNABLE TO
MAINTAIN CONTINUOUS VISUAL.
2.3 BEFORE RECEIVING THE VISUAL APPROACH CLEARANCE, ATC SHOULD
PROVIDE THE SAFE SEPARATION BETWEEN ACFT.
AFTER RECEIVING THE VISUAL APPROACH CLEARANCE, THE PILOT IS
RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAIN SAFE SEPARATION BETWEEN THE ACFT AND
GROUND OBSTACLES, AND FLY TOWARD THE LANDING AIRPORT OR FOLLOW THE
PRECEDING ACFT FOR APPROACH.

AFTER RECEIVING THE VISUAL APPROACH FOLLOWING PRECEDING ACFT
CLEARANCE, THE PILOT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAIN SAFE SEPARATION
BETWEEN PRECEDING ACFT OF THE SAME RWY.
2.4 WHEN APPROACHING TO PARALLEL RWYS AT THE SAME TIME, ACFT
CONDUCT NEITHER VISUAL APPROACH NOR INSTRUMENT APPROACH SHALL
CROSS THE EXTENDED LINE OF THE FINAL OF THE APP RWY.
2.5 WHEN IMPLEMENT VISUAL APPROACH,PILOTS SHOULD COMPLY WITH THE
FOLLOWING SPEED RESTRICTIONS UNTIL OTHERWISE INSTRUCTED, IAS NOT
LESS THAN 180KT TO 8NM TO TOUCHDOWN, IAS NOT LESS THAN 160KT TO
6NM TO TOUCHDOWN.WHILE ACFT CONDUCTING A SHORT FINAL VISUAL
APPROACH,PILOTS MAY MAINTAIN SPEED AT OWN DISCRETION.
2.6 PILOTS CONDUCTING VISUAL APPROACHES VACATE RWY AS SOON AS ABLE
LANDING, THE TIME FROM THE ACFT CROSSING THE RWY THRESHOLD TO
THE ACFT VACATING THE RWY SHOULD BE CONTROLLED WITHIN 50
SECONDS.FLIGHT CREW SHALL INFORM ATC IF MORE TIME NEEDED BEFORE
LANDING.
3. EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
3.1 DURING A VISUAL APPROACH, IF A VISUAL APPROACH CANNOT BE
COMPLETED BECAUSE OF LOSING A VISUAL REFERENCE (AIRPORT,RWY OR
PRECEDING ACFT) AND OTHER REASONS. PILOT SHALL INFORM ATC IN TIME,
ATC MAY ASSIST THE PILOT TO SWITCH TO INSTRUMENT APPROACH, SUSPEND
APPROACH OR MISSED APPROACH PROCEDURE DEPENDING ON THE PILOT'S
INTENTIONS.
