Interpretation

Bird flock activity will occur around the aerodrome by day and night. Primary activity extends from Chongming Island east of the airport toward the sea off Changxing Island and within 6 km of wetlands, farmland, and coastal areas near the airport's north and south ends, from ground level to 200 m, with nighttime migratory flights from 300 m to 3,000 m. A second area extends 8–15 km south of the RWY 34R threshold to 7 km east of the RWY 16L/34R centerline, at 30–80 m. The aerodrome authority will use bird-dispersal methods; exercise caution during landing and takeoff.
