Interpretation
Shanghai Approach is conducting a trial of the Landing Information Deliver (LID) data-link operation for arrivals to ZSSS. Approximately 50 minutes before landing, Shanghai Approach will send a LID message including expected arrival procedure, approach method, landing runway, and parking stand. Pilots may use the LID information for FMS preparation without radio confirmation by ACC, but on initial contact with Shanghai Approach must advise their LID information (expected arrival procedure, approach method, and landing runway). Shanghai Approach will confirm or modify the pilot’s LID report, and once radio communication is established, pilots must follow controller instructions for any changes. If no LID message is received, pilots should follow current procedures. (Part 01 of 02; some points truncated.)
