Monitoring Airports and FIRs

Add monitored locations deliberately and keep dashboards coherent by grouping airports that share the same operational logic.

The location set defines what a dashboard covers.

Adding locations

Inside a dashboard, use the add-airport workflow to search and add monitored locations. You can add multiple ICAO codes at once when building out a board quickly.

Group by operational logic

A useful dashboard groups locations that share:

  • The same review cadence
  • The same time window
  • The same escalation rules
  • The same operator audience

If one airport belongs to a different workflow, put it in a separate dashboard.

Airports and FIRs

The Operating System supports both airport-level and FIR-level monitoring. The same principle applies: keep the dashboard tied to one operational question.

Examples: Morning departures hubs, Alternates west region, Fuel watch core network

Removing locations

When a location no longer fits the dashboard's purpose:

  1. Remove it from the dashboard.
  2. Check whether related alerts should be updated.
  3. If the location belongs to a different responsibility, move it to a better-fitting dashboard.
