Operating System
Operating System Overview
What the dashboard monitoring layer does and when to use it.
The Operating System is the dashboard monitoring layer. It is designed to stay open during operations for continuous NOTAM monitoring.

What it does
- Monitors multiple airports and FIRs on one screen.
- Applies shared time and filter logic across the entire dashboard.
- Supports airport-level overrides where one location needs different settings.
- Provides card, list, and bulk view modes.
- Refreshes automatically when new NOTAMs are published.
- Shows affected elements and geographic context through optional visual panels.
When to use a dashboard
Use a dashboard for persistent monitoring of a stable set of locations:
- All airports in a network segment
- Alternates for a specific operation
- A shift-specific operating window
- An infrastructure-focused watchlist (fuel, runway, lighting)
